Race for Beat the Banana! places
Tags: Beat the Banana, cancer prevention week, fundraising events
With less than a week to go until WCRF’s unique Beat the Banana! race, there are still a limited number of places for runners who want a fun evening in London’s Hyde Park.
As the only known race where joggers get to test their pace against a giant yellow fruit, the 5km run sees hundreds speed around the park to raise funds and awareness for cancer prevention.
Held on Thursday May 12, the run starts at 6pm near Queen Elizabeth Gate (the entrance nearest Hyde Park Corner tube station).
As well as raising funds for our research and education programmes, Beat the Banana! also raises awareness about the links between physical activity, healthy eating and cancer prevention, as well as being a great way to spend a summer’s evening in central London.
This is the seventh year the hugely successful race has been held and it is proving as popular as ever, with less than a hundred places left.
Registration is just £12 and includes a free banana-yellow T-Shirt, a competitor’s medal and goody bag.
To sign up, visit www.beatthebanana.org/register or call 020 7343 4205.
